This is the picture I have in mind when I hear globalisation. The term is used more and more and people relate mainly advantages with it.

But then, I took this picture a few couple of weeks ago. It was very surprising for me that people sense globalisation as selling our world.

During the course "Globalisation and professional change" I expect to talk exactly about chances and risks of globalisation. I'm also looking forward to discuss a variety of opportunities which we will have to become a more globalized teacher. So far, we didn't have any courses/seminars about that topic in our home institution in Germany. This is why I decided to participate in an Erasmus-program - to become more open-minded and to learn how to teach global. We have a lot of cultural variety in our German schools, especially in Berlin, where sometimes 80% immigrants from 4 different cultures attending a class. I don't feel well-prepared enough to teach in such classes and see it as a huge challenge.

Therefore, I'm very excited about the globalization course, because I think that I will get to know a lot of methods how to deal with globalisation and cultural diversity.
